Solamente las estrellas/ Only the Stars
In the image, “Three Nervous Ticks. When I think on you..and you are near me..only the stars know how much I/solamente las estrellas…(Self-portrait with hair), I kept having these vivid visions of my hands twirling my hair behind my back expressing tension and anxiety during social interactions. This tension is expressed in the twirl and pulling of the hair and serves as a distraction. Stars are depicted on the wrist through tattoos in the form of Mexica/Aztec iconography for stars.
